Dreambear was brought on by Guess Originals to conceptualize and handle all creative and production aspects of their digital campaign promoting their partnership with Betty Boop and Fleischer Studios. Their goal was to honor the rich legacy of Betty Boop and Fleischer Studios while showcasing Guess’ new line.
The project involved a number of key steps, including the ideation and storyboarding of the concept, building Betty Boop’s figure out of silicon, the fabrication of outfits and sets, and finally the stop motion animation and post-production. Dreambear's starting point was to bring on the perfect director, Lawrence Becker, a stop motion artist with a passion for anything related to the history of animation. We researched early animation techniques used by Fleischer Studios, particularly the Setback which became a starting point for the creative.
In the end, Dreambears successfully conceptualized and produced all aspects of the campaign for Guess’ collaboration with Betty Boop.
